The NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) Exam is a highly competitive entrance examination conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology in India. It is held annually to select candidates for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fashion and design. The NIFT Exam assesses candidates' aptitude, creativity, logical reasoning, and general awareness in the field of fashion and design. The exam consists of two parts:the written test and the situation test. The written test evaluates candidates' knowledge in various areas such as quantitative ability, communication skills, English comprehension, analytical ability, and general knowledge. It may also include questions related to the fashion industry, current affairs, and recent trends.

Exam Pattern

• The Written Examination For NIFT Has Two Components.
  • Creative Ability Test (CAT)
  • General Ability Test (GAT)

• The CAT is a Pencil-and-Paper-based Exam.
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Skills evaluated: Intuition skill, power of observation, innovation in the development of a concept, as well as design ability of the candidate. It will also test the creative as well as innovative use of color and illustration skills of aspirants.

• NIFT Exam Pattern for Situation Test
  • Candidates who have been shortlisted for NIFT B. Des admissions on the basis of their written test need to appear for NIFT Situation Test 2023 wherein their "material handling and the innovative ability" will be tested.
